Social Law
The Federal Republic of Germany is a modern welfare state. This is laid down in Article 20 I GG. This national objective is realized through the social law. The social law combines various legislative matters and exhibits points of contact as well as intersections with many other areas of law.
The social law can be divided in three main areas:
1.Social welfare (social aid)
2.Social service (child benefit, disabled rights, grants, etc.)
3. Social insurance with social provision (including professional care)
The core matters of social justice are in the social security code (SGB), designated in the books SGB I-XII. In addition, the victims of war pensions act, victim compensation act, the law on advance payment of maintenance, grants act, etc. belong to this broad area of law.
Because of the enormous significance of social law a legal process has been provided for claims, rights and obligations, for such procedures are assigned social jurisdiction. (Law of Social Justice, SGG).
Per se the social law grants every man in certain situations (mostly financial) claims in order to safeguard the minimum existence.
